About the brand

“We don’t make soaps, we make gifts.” Those are the words of founder Aquiles Barros. Founded near Porto in 1999, Castelbel draws on Portugal’s soap-making tradition: bars individually wrapped by hand in decorative paper, with scents ranging from white jasmine to almond and honey. There are also candles, reed diffusers and room sprays.

Sustainability

Castelbel’s soaps contain no palm oil; their base is olive and coconut oil.
