Essential Parfums was founded in Paris in 2018 and works with the industry's most renowned perfumers – Quentin Bisch, Sophie Labbé, Calice Becker and others. Each of them creates exactly one fragrance for the house, entirely on their own terms. Elaborate packaging is deliberately left out; the bottles are refillable.

Essential Parfums uses refillable bottles (with recycled glass), plastic-free FSC cardboard, beetroot-derived alcohol, and compositions around 86–93% natural in origin; the fragrances are vegan and cruelty-free. Production is mostly in France and Italy.
