About the brand

Aesop borrowed its name from the Greek fabulist — a quiet jab at the grand promises of the beauty industry. It all began in 1987 at a hairdresser’s chair in Melbourne, where Dennis Paphitis blended essential oils into his treatments.

Sustainability

Aesop has been a certified B Corporation since 2020. All formulations are approved under Cruelty Free International’s Leaping Bunny program. The 500 ml bottles are made from at least 97% recycled plastic.
