Founded in Paris in 1774, L.T. Piver supplied the courts of Europe and, by its own account, worked with the chemist Georges Darzens in 1889 to put the first aldehydes into a perfume. Today the house produces in Chartres once again. It has brought its old formulas back from its own archive — from bottles, handwritten recipes and catalogs — and reissued them in two collections, Collection Historique and Collection Voyage: À la Reine des Fleurs from 1774, Cuir de Russie, Pompeïa.
